Ellouise was born in Port Arthur on November 22, 1938, to Teddy and Aldyth Bodden, who immigrated from Grand Cayman, BWI. She was predeceased by her parents and her three brothers, Boyd, Walter and Dwight, of this area, and granddaughter, Megan Broadwell, of Woodstock, Georgia.
Ellouise is survived by her husband, Richard E. Hopkins of Houston, son, Paul Hopkins and his wife, Carol, of Wilmington, Delaware, twin daughters, Annette Keith and husband, Ronnie, of Woodstock, Georgia, and Kaye Kelleher and husband Peter, of Houston; along with their seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Ellouise graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur in 1956 and the University of Houston in 1990, after a dogged pursuit of a business degree - most of it in night classes over a period of over thirty years. She enjoyed traveling to over 50 countries with Richard during their marriage of 61 years.
She was a long-time faithful member of the Church of Christ, most recently at Memorial Church of Christ in Houston.
Ellouise was a wonderful wife and mother who lived for her family. She was the kindest and sweetest of women-simply the best person we ever knew. Her pain is over now, as she rests in the arms of Jesus.
