James Douglas Barker, Sr. passed away at his home on Thursday, February 24, 2022.
James was born on June 7, 1946 to James A. & Novelle Vincent Barker, in Baylor County. He attended Bomarton & Seymour Schools. He worked many years in the Oilfield as a Driller and Tool Pusher. Later, James worked in Building Maintenance for Allsup's and the Seymour Nursing Home, until his retirement.
James is survived by his five sons, Doug (Angela) Barker, Jimmy (Tonya) Barker, Jeramie Barker, Jeffrey (Toni) Barker, and Jarrod Barker all of Seymour. Also survived by his brother, Jerry (Letha) Barker of Little Elm, Texas. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen.James was a Scout Master. He loved fishing and target shooting.
Viewing will be held at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, February 27th, 200 S. Cedar Street, Seymour, Texas.
