David was the son of Willard (Pat) and Elizabeth (Mary) McLaughlin Butler. David was born February 19, 1944 in Independence, Kansas.
David was one of 12 Children. Half- Btothers (Melvin & Raymond Joe McLaughlin) Clinton Butler, Dwight Butler, Corene Butler Shepard, Coleen Butler Ashenfelter, Charles Butler, Alice Butler French, Rosemary Butler Merritt, Joan Butler & Bobby Butler.
He served in the Vietnam War and returned to Independence and worked at the Cement Plant until its closing.
He was married to Patty Parks and were later divorced. He married Katherine Mahanay and were later divorced. Him and Kathy had two children, Andrea & Misty. and raised Kathy's son Terry also.
