Donald Ernest Ament, 85, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Wynne Ament, parents Ernest and Edith Ament, brothers Myron and Calvin Ament, sisters Geneva Gilliam, Peggy Gilliam, and Gerry Holmes.

Don is survived by one son, Dwayne (Malissa) Ament of Maryville, Tennessee, one daughter Donna (Eddie) Allison of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Shelby Allison, Alyson Ament, and Daniel Ament.

Don was born in the Sweeten's Cove community where he was a lifetime resident. He was a member of Battle Creek Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 515. He also served in the National Guard. He worked as a welder and machinist for many years while raising cattle on his farm in Sweeten's Cove.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN, officiating will be Pastor Jeffery Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (CST) at Rogers Funeral Home prior to the graveside service at Cumberland View Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Dewey Gilliam, Randy Gilliam, James Church, Robby Wynne, Chris Nelson, and James Haskew. Honorary pallbearers are Neil Kirkpatrick and Ernie Harris.
