Mary Margaret McGillicuddy was a gifted musician. She was organist at the First Baptist Church. She married Earle McGillicuddy and they made their home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her husband, she was survived by a son, Earle T. McGillicuddy Jr., and two grandsons, Eric and Earle McGillicuddy III. She was also survived by a sister, Ivetta Cain Shelton.
Funeral services were held at the Shelton home in Statesville by the Rev. James Potter and the Rev. Robert Marshburn. Funeral services in Morganton were conducted by the Rev. John D. McReady. Pallbearers for Mrs. McGillicuddy included Robert Bristol, Peter W. Patton, Herman Kirksey Jr.,Harry Lee Wilson, Jr., O. Lee Horton, and Eugene C. Denton.
