Alberta Jean Densford, age 86 of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

She was born in Norwood, Ohio on February 8, 1936, daughter of the late Hubert Newkirk and the late Grace Finn.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Densford.

Jean was a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene where for many years she taught Sunday School, coached children's quizzing and sang in the choir. She was most recently a member of Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Madison Heights. Jean loved her grandkids, enjoyed reading, traveling, crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. She was also known by family members as "The Queen of Trivia."

Survivors include her two children, Laura Kitts and Daryl Densford (Holly); six brothers and sisters, Donna Stamm, Joann Green (Tim), Michael Finn (Marion), Mary Ann Kaiser (Bob), Cheryl Bryan, and Ron Newkirk (Brenda); nine grandchildren, Emily Lindy, Jacob Densford, Jordan Croucher (Kelly), Hannah Buskirk (Jamie), Jonathan Densford, Elizabeth Croucher, Olivia Croucher, Julia Densford, and Heidi Densford. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Galen Lemmon officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
