He was born in Oakland, MS and was a graduate of Oakland High School, where he excelled in sports, participating in football, basketball, and track. After graduation, Bob enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for 28 months.
Bob worked in retail management and started his own company, Birmingham Lumber and Building Supply in the early 1980s, where he worked until retirement. He traveled many places, but truly enjoyed spending time at home with his family. Known for his generosity, Bob especially took great joy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
For over 40 years, Bob was an active member of Hillview Baptist Church in Forestdale, AL, where he served as treasurer, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir. He firmly believed in welcoming everyone into his church home.
He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Hardy Wolfe of Oxford, MS and his parents, Jesse Monroe Wolfe and Ethel Gertrude McAllister Wolfe.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Bell Funeral Home, 2077 Pratt Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35214 with visitation at 10 o'clock that morning and the funeral at 11:00. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens, 5250 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adamsville, AL 35005. There will be no graveside service, but friends and family are welcome to visit the graveside.
