• Isaac W. Longley died while in the service of the TX 22nd Infantry Company I around Oct/Nov 1862 at Camp Nelson near Cabot Arkansas. Easter did not remarry until 1873. I speculate that the widow lived with parents and/or married sister Sarah Elizabeth Wood Rice who was married to a successful farmer Hezekiah Fleetwood Rice. The Rice family headstone is large as is the headstone of Sarah and Easter parents (Mathew Wood and Mourning Atkinson Wood). Mathew died in 1876, Mourning in 1877, while Easter married A.M. Thurman (recorded 1873) until her death in 1889.

Genealogy Note: Many local researchers are confused about the relationship of the George W Longley buried adjacent to Easter. Husband Isaac W Longley and his brother George W Longley are often confused given the facts that Isaac named his first born child George William "Little Bill" Longley after his brother. In the Oct 24, 1850 Murray County, GA census shows brothers George W and Isaac living adjacent to James and Nancy Longley (page 233 top two lines) ages 25 and 23 respectively. On Oct 29, 1850, George W and Isaac living in the household of John Calfee as carpenter and laborer, ages 24 and 22 respectively. Migration in a continuing westward movement to the Rusk and Tyler Texas area precludes the marriage of Isaac to Easter (sometimes enumerated as Esther). Son "Little Bill" was thrown from a horse and died of a broken neck per Longley family lore at age 28. Husband Isaac is buried Camp Nelson Confederate Cemetery near Cabot, Lonoke County, Arkansas, USA. Little Bill was the first of three generations of descendants of Isaac and Easter Longley to carry the name of George William Longley. With his brother that makes 4 separate individuals with the same name and is confusing to researchers.
