Obituary from the Thursday, Sept. 11, 1952 Montpelier Herald newspaper, p.1, Col.5: "COOK, Mrs. Areta,83, widow of William C. Cook, died Saturday (Sept. 6). Born April 24, 1869. Last member of her immediate family. Survived by four daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Boyd, Mrs. Naomi Wyle, Mrs. Ursula Heinsius, Mrs. Ethel Jensen; two sons, Charles E. and Howard Cook. Burial Catholic Cemetery, north of Montpelier."
