John B. Jordan was the son of Andrew John and Catharine Huffman Jordan. He was the brother of Mary Ann b. January 4 1811, Henry G. b. February 1 1819, Deborah b. April 10 1820, Sampson b. 1822, Hezekiah b. 1825, A. Mashaddi, Elizabeth b. 1827, Rachael Mahulda b. 1831, and Josiah J. Jordan b. 1836.


John B. married Francis Hester Propst April 3 1837 in Pendleton County West Virginia. To this union nine children were born Hester Ann b. January 2 1838, Marshall b. August 26 1839, Louisia Jane, Hannah Catherine b. 1844, Elizabeth Hattie b. January 30 1847, Jesse Bunyon b. 1848, Mary Frances b. April 8 1851, Josephine M. b. 1854 and Thomas Jackson Jordan b. April 28, 1862.
