Mrs. Harriet Clifford, widow of Eben Clifford, died at her home in Walnut last Thursday. Mrs. Clifford was one of the old residents of Walnut; was 87 years of age and for many years has been an active member of the spiritualistic organization. The funeral was from her house Saturday afternoon. A lady from Chicago conducted the services; Burial in Walnut cemetery.

Eben and Harriet were married in 1838 in Edgecomb, Maine. They settled on a farm near Walnut in 1852. They had 11 children, but six died in infancy. Harriet practiced medicine for 14 years. She was buried in the dress she wore as a bride 67 years before.
