His interesting gravestone, with 3D skull inscribed with greek letters Alpha and Epsilon, is featured in Weird NJ magazine May 2004, p. 54.

He died of influenza and pneumonia, so it might have been caught from treating returning WWI vets who caught this in Europe.

"Dr. Murray D. Beck of Ocean Grove died of pneumonia at the Spring Lake hospital a few days ago. He was a son of George D. Beck of Bradley Beach. He leaves a widow who was Miss Beatrice Clayton, daughter of Marcus L. Clayton of Ocean Grove."
