Frances Phyllis Stevens Hendricks passed peacefully on April 22, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Saratoga Springs, Utah.

Born on Feb. 9, 1925, "Franci" saw the world change dramatically in her lifetime; but her one constant was the love she shared with those around her. She had a heart as big as our world tucked into a little 4'7" frame. She had a laugh that was contagious and a drive to make the world a better place than she found it. And she did.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints. She served the youth and women with untiring efforts while raising her 7 children. She loved her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and lived with the desire to always do what was right.

She married Boyd Beach Gibson on Feb. 10, 1944 with whom she shared 7 children. She married the love of her life, James Ray Hendricks on May 10, 1985.

She was a hard worker and from the age of 14, she had a job. She struggled to provide for her family as a single mom, but as life commitments changed, she had more time and energy and she took on her little community of Blanchard, Idaho with a dream of what it could be. She first saw a need for a library and started small with Bingo games and fund raisers to see it happen. Once the dream was shared with the community, the dreams got bigger and realities far exceeded her expectations. In the end, she had accomplished her goal of a local library, as well as getting a Community Center built. She served as president of Blanchard Area Seniors for many years. She was the driving force behind a scholarship program for youth, fundraisers to continue free bread to locals and to keep the Center running, and seed money for the Grub Shack Food Bank. Surrounding communities helped tirelessly to support each other and they loved our mom's continued spunk and vision. Their tribute: "We have so much to thank Franci for. Blanchard is a better place because she was among us. She was one of the greatest examples of pure love that we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She will never be forgotten."

She had personal dreams too. In 1965 she earned her pilot's license. Later, at age 85, she went skydiving. She loved music and dancing and being properly accessorized. She was fiercely patriotic and voted into her 90's. Antique gold was her decorating go-to. She loved birds, and flowers and cards. And treats. Family and jumping out of a plane were her bragging points to the very end.

She was so proud of her family and is deeply loved by those left behind. Children: Kaye (Jim) Lewis, Rick Gibson, Gloria (Scott) Iverson, Mark (Sue) Gibson, Laura (Jim) Hainsworth, Todd (Cindi) Gibson, Chad (Charene) Gibson, 27 grandkids, 68 great-grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids.

Graveside service will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Spokane Washington May 8, 2021 at 12:30 pm.
