Kathryn was born in Hartwell, GA on January 30, 1934.
She and her husband, Vernon, moved to Maryville, TN in the late 1950's. Maryville was her home until she moved to Virginia in September of 2021 to be closer to her daughter and family. Kathryn loved her family, friends and her church, Broadway Baptist. She was a faithful Christian and she did not live her life in fear, always knowing that God was in control and believed in his plan. Kathryn looked for the best in others and she enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and other charities. She was the neighborhood mom where children would gather for milkshakes and snacks.
Preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Vickery; son, Darryl Vickery.
Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Luna-Glass and Dan Glass; grandchildren, Austin Luna, Cameron Luna, Nolan Glass and wife, Kara Glass; great-grandchild, Whitley Glass; also a special friend of many years, Reggie Essex.
Family will receive friends form 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Smith Trinity Chapel with the Funeral Service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Zad Tomberlin officiating. Interment to follow at 3:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery Pavilion.
