James J. Cust, 76, passed away peacefully on Sunday, with his family by his side. He was a son of the late Evelyn Cust Stead and a graduate of Springfield Trade High School. Jim served proudly in the United States Army receiving a Purple Heart for his time in Vietnam. He worked for over 30 years at the U.S. Post Office in the Bulk Mail Center. In retirement, he enjoyed having coffee with friends at several local spots and most of all spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his wife, AnnMarie Cust, his sons James Cust Jr. of Belchertown, Jerry Cust of Ludlow, Jason Cust of New York, Michael Cust and his wife Stefanie of Three Rivers; his six grandchildren, and a great grandson. He also leaves his siblings Michelle Mayotte, Bobby, Tommy, Roger, Rene Bourget. He was predeceased by his daughter Marie (Cust) Platanitis.
