Obituary for Pastor Eddie Joe Benson
Pastor Eddie J. Benson, beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, pastor and community leader, was called home Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his home. He was born February 17, 1946 in Haynesville, AL.

Pastor Benson was known in the greater Saginaw community as the owner of Al's Market, the "Little Debbie Man", the "Budweiser Man", owner of Faith International Vending and as Pastor of Christ Disciples Miracle Center. He was known by many as the man who gave them their first job, offered words of encouragement and introduced them to Christ. He came to Saginaw, MI in 1960 and was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Pastor Benson is remembered as a man of great faith, a giver of second chances and as a man with an impeccable reputation. He loved God, his family, his church, his friends and his garden.

Pastor Benson leaves to celebrate his memory, his loving wife, Genevieve Benson; his sons, Edward "Joey" (Abigayle) Benson of Phoenix, AZ, Erving (Tony) Benson of Chicago, IL, Ellison Benson of Lexington, KY and Nathan Lee Webb of Duluth, GA; daughter, Tiffany Rena Doxie; granddaughters, Moneek and Maleya Doxie; his mother, Johnnie DeBardelaben; his siblings, Donald (Marie) DeBardelaben, Rosemary Allen, Annette (Louis) Williams, Patrick DeBardelaben and Willie DeBardelaben, Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pastor Benson was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ethel Pearl Benson; father, Willie DeBardelaben; and brother, Bernard DeBardelaben.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Wolverine State Baptist Headquarters, 615 S. Jefferson Ave. Apostle James Glenn will officiate. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave. on Wednesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m
