Arnold N. Aanonsen, 88, of Griggstown, died Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center of Plainsboro. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he graduated Emmanuel High School in 1950, later moving to Griggstown. Arne was a United States Army Korean War Veteran.



He retired in 1992 with over 42 years of service as a dock builder with the Dock Builder's Union Local 1556 and served as a foreman on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. Arne was a member of the Bunker Hill Lutheran Brethren Church, the VFW Post 9111, Kendall Park Elks and the Over the Hill Bowling Team of Bunker Hill Church. He was a manager for many years of many local basketball and softball teams.

Son of the late Ole and Gudrun (Knudsen) Aanonsen, father of the late David Aanonsen,brother of the late Ralph Aanonsen, he is ssurvived by his wife of 39 years, Eleanor L. (Pellichero) Aanonsen, 2 sons Mark Aanonsen, Gary Aanonsen, brother Carl Aanonsen, 6 grandchildren Christian Mark, Cameron, Caylee, Heather, Kyle and Amber.



A memorial service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Bunker Hill Lutheran Brethren Church 235 Bunker Hill Road, Princeton, NJ. Friends may call on Saturday Morning from 10:30 am until the time of the service at the church.



Burial will follow in the Griggstown Cemetery.
