Betty LaVon (Randall) Nelson, 91, passed away on Friday, 11 February 2022.

Betty was born in Blackfoot, Idaho on Thursday, 22 January 1931, to Thomas Henry and Marie (Johnston) Randall. She and her brothers, Clive and Lee (who worked hard on the family's farm while she tended to her kittens) spent their childhood in the Blackfoot and Rose areas. Betty loved playing outside, spending time with her grandmother, attending school, and, above all, singing. Her high school years were spent socializing and participating in the Girls' Glee Club, choir and Pep Club, where Betty became aware of a certain fellow named Clint Nelson.

She began dating Clint the summer after their Junior year. As both were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty and Clint married in the Idaho Falls temple for time and all eternity on Thursday, 7 September 1950. Betty said her life began when she married.

She and Clint lived in thirteen homes in seventeen years. They lived in Portland, Oregon and Blackfoot, Burley, Pocatello, Rupert, and Twin Falls, Idaho. At each place, Betty created a wonderful home for her family.

She had a quick, clever wit and spending time with her was so much fun! She was generous, especially with food. No one ever walked out of her house hungry. She always had treats on hand for her grandkids.

Hers was the unique ability to make people feel special, interesting, important, and seen.

In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Nelson and sister-in-law, Audrey Randall.

Left to cherish her memory are Betty's husband of 71 years, Clint Nelson; children, Andra (Matt) Lalli, Lynne (Terry) Buckner, Terri (Mike) Dutcher, Val (Jacque) Nelson; fifteen grandchildren and an ever-growing number of great-grandchildren; and brothers, Clive Randall and Lee (Sandy) Randall.

Funeral services will be held in the Stonecreek Ward chapel, 1475 North 300 West, Bountiful on Thursday, 17 February 2022 at 2 P.M., followed by interment.
