A. Elwood (Bud) Place, age 91, husband of Elizabeth R. (Ebinger) Place, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Parkhouse Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Royersford. Born on March 14, 1930 in Royersford, he was a son of the late Laura (Johnson) and Oliver Place.

After graduating from the former Royersford High School in the Class of 1948, Bud was employed by ACME before being drafted to serve in the United States Army. He served honorably from 1952 - 1954 in Korea and was discharged with the rank Sergeant First Class. He continued with ACME upon returning stateside prior to employment with Major's Dairy, Bechtel's Dairy, Valley Maid/Bachman and moved to Utz as District Manager, until his retirement at the age of 66. During his retirement, Bud was employed by Custer's Bus Garage.

Bud volunteered as fire police, served as company President for 25 years and was a lifetime member of the Humane Fire Company in Royersford. He was a member of the church choir and served on church council at both St. Vincent U.C.C. and East Vincent U.C.C. prior to his membership at St. James Lutheran Church. Bud had a love for singing and would often sing at weddings.

In addition to his loving wife (Betty) of 70 years (March 25th would have been 71 years), Bud is survived by a daughter: Lora L., wife of Stephen Sanderson, of Royersford; grandchildren: Lisa Rossi, Karen Jeffords, Eric Sanderson, Eileen Caro and Elysia Sanderson; great-grandchildren: Bretton, Torrance, Hailie, Teagyn, Seryn and Aaron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Carol A. Lippy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial service on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 am, at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, Limerick. Officiating will be Rev. Christopher A. McKinstry and Bobbie Hoffman, Director of Discipleship. Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bud's name to St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, Limerick, PA 19468.
