Mrs. Elizabeth N. Heiffner was born near Jeromeville, Ashland county, Ohio, November 5, 1849, and departed this life Monday evening, June 27, 1910, aged 60 years, 7 months, 22 days.
Nearly forty years ago she came to the farm near Savannah, Ohio, where she had since resided, with the exception of about three years.
She was united in marriage with J.J. Heiffner in April, 1871, and together they traveled life's pathway, and shared life's joys and sorrows until the death of the husband nearly four years ago.
To this union were born four sons and four daughters. Three sons and three daughters are still living. Besides these, there are left two sisters and one brother, and twelve grandchildren.
About thirty-five years ago Mrs. Heiffner untied with the Christian Union church, in Rev. Lam's ministry. For several years she had been in declining health, and for nearly five years she had been deprived of the great blessing of sight.
But now her earthly course is forever ended. Her last words to her son were, "Don't cry, I'm going home," and we trust she was at peace with our blessed Savior, who said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.M. Scott, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Savannah, and the body was tenderly laid to rest in the Heiffner cemetery near Orange on Thursday, June 30, 1910.
