Richard A. "Dickie" Adario

Of West Newton, MA passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, February 8th, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 81.

Born on July 30, 1940 in Cambridge, MA; son of the late William Adario and Mary (Troiano) Adario. He was raised in Cambridge and resided in Waltham for a period of time before moving to West Newton 48 years ago. Dickie graduated from Cambridge Rindge Technical High School. A member of the Teamsters Local Union #25, Dickie had been employed as a Truck Driver throughout his life.

He served honorably and proudly with the United States Marines Corps.

He had a passion for the outdoors and all things nature; he was involved in the Boys Scouts Troop #250 and loved hunting but most especially, fishing. He always spent as much time as he could working on his garden, and it did not matter what time of the year, he was always gardening. He had many hobbies; "fixing things", woodworking and carpentry were just a few. Dickie had a natural talent for cooking; he was truly a home chef that could make the most delicious and incredible meals for friends and family.

He was outgoing and always making connections with people. He worked as a Pollworker for the City of Newton during election season.

His family and his friends were always first and foremost; he was loyal, generous, kind, and caring. He cherished the time and special occasions he spent with everyone. He lit up any room with his personality and humor. He was known as the "Magic Man"; always sharing his magic tricks at family gatherings. He was the life of a party and people loved being around him. He will be missed dearly by those that had the privilege of knowing him and calling him a friend.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years the late Patricia E. (Largey) Adario who passed in 2009, his parents, William and Mary as well as his brother, Robert "Bobby" Adario. We take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with them in heaven.

Dickie is survived by his devoted & loving children; Richard S. Adario and his spouse Rafael of California; Dyan Rose Adario of Newton; and Roberta "Bobbi" Adario of Newton; his cherished grandsons Julian and Mason; his dear siblings William Adario of CT; Mary Ann Ayer of NH; Rose Korecki and Jane Adario both of East Cambridge; and Susan Doyle of Bedford; and his companion and wife of five years Giovanna Pezzella Adario. In addition, he is survived by countless extended family members and close friends.

Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Dickie's life to remember the love and friendship he shared with others at a Funeral Service in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St. Waltham on Monday morning February 14th at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
