John F. Galloway was the son of David and Sarah (Smith) Galloway. He was born in Hempstead Co., Ar. in June of 1891. His mother died when he was about 15 years of age. He moved with his father David and his sister, Mary, who was married to Ben Malin, to McCurtain Co., Ok. just before 1910. John entered the US Army in WWI, (Texas PVT, 1 cl, 359 Inf 90 Div) and was wounded in battle. He died overseas in hospital and his body was shipped to Oklahoma for burial.
