Addie Jo Holloway (Jody) went home peacefully on Thursday February 10, 2022 to join her beloved husband of 50 years, Cecil Holloway. Our Mom was born in Austin Texas in 1931 as the youngest child of Russell and Annie B Smith attending the 1st Avenue Church of Christ until married. Her Dad died when she was nine years leaving her and our granny to depend on the support of her older brother and lots of childcare. She graduated from Austin High School marrying our Dad right away. They started their Navy life together in California traveling across country to South Carolina, Virginia, and Texas several times finding loving church families along the way. Like most Navy wives Mom was left at home raising all 5 kids while our Dad was serving the country and president, but with Granny's help the family thrived. One of my favorite memories was reading the beautiful loves letters daddy sent every day while away repeating over and over how much he loved and missed her. It was one of the many ways our parents set an example of how a marriage could be. Momma never met a stranger, she reached out to everyone giving love, compassion, and sometimes a roof over the head of anyone she felt needed. We all have stories of the way she and daddy shared their love with others, it was never-ending. She remained in their home with the support of the Wells Branch Church of Christ until the most recent years when because of her health she moved to the Hearthstone community. Under their care she built strong relationships with so many filling her days with bingo, beauty salon, sitting outside in the sun, lots of friends. One of her recent personally proud moments was when they elected her their president. We will miss her so much but will continue on remembering we are her legacy.

She was also preceded in death by 2 children, Tammi Jo Holloway Williams and Richard Lane Holloway, grandson, Zachary Joseph Holloway, and nephew Rusty Carroll. She leaves behind 3 surviving children : daughter, Dianne Holloway Soefje and husband Otto; son, Rodney Earl Holloway and wife, Brenda; and son, Charles Patrick Holloway and wife Brenda. Grandchildren: Leigh Soefje, Janna Soefje, Shawn Holloway, Dr Cristie Holloway Jones, Eric Holloway, Kiko Williams, Olga Williams, Brian Holloway, Sara Holloway Hernandez. Her precious great grand children; Dooley Brady, Maeve Brady, Stetson Holloway, Justin Holloway, Addie Jones, Brody Jones, Miles Williams, Zyler Williams, Elisabeth Holloway, and Matthew Hernandez will miss her dearly. Also, niece Elaine Windom, husband Larry Reagan, her son Michael Carrasco, and Nephew James Windom, and wife Jane.
