Obituary for Dorothy Jean (Timmins) Bowser
Dorothy Jean (Timmins) Bowser, age 99, went peacefully in her sleep into the arms of Jesus at home in Sunbury, Ohio during the early morning hours of February 7, 2022. It is said of Moses in Deuteronomy 34 that, prior to his death, "his eyes were not weak, nor his strength gone." The same is true of Dorothy. Her energy and sharp mind were a marvel. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is now enjoying her eternal rest.

Dorothy was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania December 11, 1922 to William and Agnes (Morgan) Timmins, the 7th of 9 children. At the age of 18, she met the Lord and at the age of 19, met the love of her life, Joe Bowser. They married in December of 1945 in Utah while Joe finished his enlistment in the Army Air Corps. Shortly, Joe felt the call to ministry (a stretch for Dorothy who was not raised in the church). Joe (aka: Bill) became a much loved pastor and for over 50 years, served churches in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hamilton, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio and Marshalltown, Iowa. They spent their retirement years back in Columbus.

When you reach the age of 99, you outlive most. Dorothy was ready to be reunited with Joe, her husband of 67 years, her two daughters, Linda (Kocher) and Becky (Pyles) as well as family and friends.
