John Phillip Eagle, known as Phil, was the only child of John Dodson Eagle and Mildred Ruth Myers. He was married to Alice Dell Philpott, daughter of Lester and Rena Philpott, for nearly 60 years, having married on 23 April 1963 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at his parent's home. Soon after, he joined the Air Force and served until about March 1974. He moved his family to California and stayed there employed as an aeronautical engineer until the mid 1990s when he became a high school math teacher. He and Alice moved to Washington state to be closer to their children around 2010. He is survived by his wife, Alice, two daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
