Calvin L. Wright, 80, of Moline, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.

Calvin was born on March 2, 1941, in Grundy County, Missouri, the son of Edgar Allen and Lenore Irene (Huffstutter) Wright. He married Myra Ann Loveridge on March 5, 1961, in Alpha, Illinois. She preceded him in death on December 11, 2010. Calvin worked as an assembler for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, retiring in 1993. He was a proud member of the Local UAW 865 and loved the friendships he made at John Deere. He adored playing in his band, the CJ's, who performed around the Quad Cities for over thirty years. In his younger years he had his own radio show in Centerville Iowa. Calvin attended the Alpha Baptist Church and Heritage Church in Rock Island. He was always friendly and outgoing and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Connie (Doug) Nations, Sherrard; son, Todd (Tammy) Wright, Moline; his granddaughters or as Calvin lovingly referred to them as his "Angel Girls 1,2, and 3, Tara Wright and Emily and Gracie Nations; brother-in-law, Larry Loveridge, Moline; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife; children, Sherry and Mark; sisters, Jean Arvidson and Mickey Irving; and brothers, Lloyd, Noel and Allen.
