ROBERT HENRY FUNCK , 84, of ABERDEEN , died Saturday, Dec. 29, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Mr. Funck had been an electrical engineer at Bell Labs, Holmdel, where he was a member of the technical staff for 46 years, retiring in 1986. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the Destroyer USS Melvin. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute of New York with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He was a parishioner of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel, where he was a Lay Minister and a Social Ministries volunteer. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Club. Mr. Funck was born in Queens, N.Y. and lived in Merrick, Long Island, N.Y., moving to Aberdeen 44 years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Julia Funck; and a brother, John. Surviving are his wife, Mary; four daughters and their husbands, Mary and Allen Walsh, Ann and Michael Kodack, Eileen and Daniel Rose and Helen and Joseph Bueti; three sons and their wives, Gerard and Patti Funck, James and Christine Funck and John and Sue Funck; a brother, Edward Fern; a sister, Helen Brown; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A funeral Mass is at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict's Church, Holmdel. Interment will be at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
