He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Dial Michael and loving father of Margaret M. Thompson, Christiansburg, Va. and John H. Michael Jr., of Baltimore, Md.; deal brother of James W. Michael and Elizabeth M. Culpepper, both of Roanoke, Va.; devoted grandfather of Meg Thompson.
A memorial service will be held in the Brown Memorial Woodbrook Presbyterian Church, 6200 N. Charles St., Baltimore, Md. on Tuesday, October 26, 1993, at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Expressions of Sympathy may be directed in Dr. Michael's name to the Stella Maris Hospice Care Unit, 2300 Dulaney Valley Road, Towson, MD or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 43025, Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Michael was born and raised in Roanoke, VA. He is the son of the late Walter C. and Margaret C. Michael.
He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1926 and from Virginia Polytechnic Institute for Pre-Dental. After moving to Maryland, he graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, which is part of the University of Maryland. He was a member of the Baltimore Assoc. of Dental Surgeons, The American College of Dentists, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Baltimore City Dental Society and the New York Academy of Dentistry. He served in the Navy during WWII.
