Daughter of Alfred and Margie Clark in Columbus, GA. While her father was in the U.S. Army, she lived in Tokyo, Japan as a child. After graduating from Jordan High School in Columbus, she married Donald Clyde Smith. During Don's career with Eastern Airlines, they lived in Columbus, Peachtree City, and Savannah. While in Columbus, she worked for Burnham's and then two churches, Cascade Hills Baptist and Mt. Zion Baptist. In Savannah, she worked for Haverty's Furniture and as an insurance adjuster for USF&G. She was a member of Compassion Christian Church, where she volunteered every week and manned the Welcome Desk on Sundays. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Don; daughter, Sheila Vittitow; son, Gary L Smith; and brother, Randall Clark. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Pam Smith; and grandchildren, Brian Smith, Regan Smith, Daniel Vittitow, Erick Vittitow, and Alex Vittitow (Martha); sister, Nancy Allen (Doyle) of Thomaston; a niece and five nephews.
