Mike Minard, Pioneer of Dora, Died Jan. 19

Michael Monroe Minard, son of the late John Harvey and Roxana M. Minard, passed away Jan 19 at the Mast Hospital in Myrtle Point, after an illness of seven weeks.

He was born on the old home place, June 22, 1882, and was 67 years, 6 months and 28 days of age, and had lived all his life on or near the old home.

Monday, Jan. 23rd, he was laid to rest in the Dora cemetery. Rev. Wilmer A. Briggs of Myrtle Point, preached the funeral sermon, and Helen Mast and Emma King of McKinley, furnished the music.

Those who survive him are; a son, Ansel, and a daughter, Aileen Hartley, and her two children, or Portland; three brothers, Steve of Salem, Fred of Dora, Harvey of Coquille, and two sisters, Rutha Barklow of Gravel Ford, and Minnie Mathewson of Red Bluff, Calif.

The pallbearers were Al Bezosky, Harold, Shepherd, Donald Rowland, Reuben Cotton, Clark and Hugh Gearhart.
