Anna Laird

Anna Laird, a member of a pioneer family in Coos County, died in a Tigard care center Wednesday.

She was born at Gravelford in Coos County Oct. 2, 1885, and attended Teachers Academy and taught school in Coos County until her marriage. She later moved to Roseburg, then in 1959 moved to Portland.

She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Dora Cemetery near Myrtle Point. Gable Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Surviving are a son, Burton H. Laird of Edmonds, Wash.; two daughters, Gertrude D. Lowden and Maxine Viebrock, both of Portland; two sisters, Eunice Livingston of Independence, Mo., and Lila Livingston of Omaha, Neb.; four grand-children; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Anna Laird Library Memorial Fund, care of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Portland Metropole Center.
