Ruth, gave her life to the Lord in 1962 and was indeed a Proverbs 31 virtuous woman. She walked by faith. She was a member of the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church of Phelps, KY. However, her faithfulness was not confined to the perimeters of the church. She changed lives wherever she went. Ruth never failed to testify of the goodness of God and urged all who had not to make their confession of faith. When called upon she would pray the prayer of faith with whomever and wherever she was for she was not ashamed of the gospel. When health allowed Ruth loved visiting the residence of the Good Shepherd Nursing home of Phelps, KY she did not take this particular calling lightly she considered it an honor to be able to go and visit.
Not only was Ruth an avid Christian but she was also an exemplary mother and wife. Her children do in fact rise and call her blessed and her late husband considered her worth more valuable than precious jewels. Ruth being the sweet spirited person that she was enjoyed a good laugh for the joy of the Lord was her strength. She was not particularly fond of gardening however she did make a good boss to those who were working in the garden. Her enduring legacy of faith, prayer and family will forever be a bright light to all who knew and loved her.
