Mr. Glenn Allen, age 67, of Alston, left this world surrounded by his family and friends, on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital after brief battle with Covid.

He was born December 17, 1954 in Scotland, Georgia to the late Dennis and Verna Mae Sharpe Allen. Glenn Grew up in Scotland, lived in Vidalia most of his life, and in Alston since 1995. He began working with Oxford Industries after high school where he met his future wife, Rosa Byrd. Soon after, he began his truck driving career with Piggy-Wiggly Southern where he worked for twenty years. He worked as a truck driver for Simonton Windows, Three Rivers, and currently was with DOT Foods. He was a member of the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church, member and past Master of Vidalia Masonic Lodge #330, Quint Shrine Club in Lyons, Alee Shrine in Savannah, and York Rite. Glenn enjoyed traveling with his family, fishing, playing around on his tractor, and he loved cooking, and made the best BBQ and Thanksgiving dressing.

He is preceded in death by a son, Michael Joe Keairns; one brother, Thomas Allen; and four sisters, Lorene Statham, Rudene Coleman, Dot Keene, and Lagail Rowe.

His surviving family includes his wife of forty-five years, Rosa Byrd Allen; one son, Jamie L. Allen and wife Jessica, all of Alston; four grandchildren, Jackson T. Allen of Alston, Amber M. Keairns of Hazlehurst, Erick Keairns and wife Amber of Jesup, and Heather V. Perkins of Lumber City; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Monday, February 7th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Allen Family Cemetery on the family property with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 483, Lyons, GA 30436, or Christian Recovery Centers, 216 Wrightsville Hwy., East Dublin, GA 31027.
