OGDEN -Our beloved Lloyd Truman Kidd, 92, died peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at Wasatch Care Center in Ogden. He was born April 25, 1914, in Preston, Idaho, to Hugh and Myra Sharp Kidd. He grew up on a farm in Preston where he attended and graduated from high school.

After obtaining a degree from Utah State, he successfully fulfilled an LDS Mission to the Southern States. Upon returning home, he accepted a job working for Mountain States Implement Company where he worked until his retirement in 1979.

Like many of his generation, he served his country during World War II in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery.

Following the war, Lloyd married Karma Farr in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 17, 1946. They were blessed with a son, Clark Lloyd Kidd. Karma died on September 6, 1958. A series of spiritual experiences led Lloyd to begin dating Beth Greenwood who joined the small family when she and Lloyd were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 22, 1959.

The Kidd family was active in the 43rd Ward where Lloyd served in many positions including Sunday School, High Priests Group, and as Ward Clerk for seven Bishops. He was a faithful Home Teacher and for 12 years Lloyd and Beth served in the Ogden Temple. His testimony of his Savior was strong, and he served Him in many ways throughout his long life.

When not busy with work and church, the family loved to travel. They were also interested in sports, and followed the Weber State basketball team for many years. Lloyd lived a full life and was a great example to those around him. His love for life and sense of humor will be missed by all.

Lloyd and his family express their gratitude to Ilene, Marcus and all the aides at Intermountain Hospice and Wasatch Care Center, who helped him with such kindness during his last days.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Beth, Ogden; son, Clark (Kathryn) Kidd, Potomac Falls, VA; and his sister, Mary Lou Nielsen, Salt Lake City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Garland, Doward, and Theron; and one sister, Elsie Bodily.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery
