1931 Jere was married to Thelma Adelle Miller in Henderson NC. They had a daughter Jerele Louise Jones (1932-1992).


1935 Florida state census shows Jere Inman Jones and wife, Thelma living at 421 Cherokee Ave, Jacksonville with their daughter Jerele (3 years). His occupation is auditor.


On 15 Feb 1942 Jere Inman Jones registered for the WWII draft as required. He is described as a 5' 11", 175 pounds, Grey eyes, brown hair, and ruddy complexion white man. He lists his wife, Thelma, as primary contact. They live at 530 May St, Jacksonville FL. His is employed at the U.S. Naval Air Station Service School. His signature appears on the document.

Her flowers were pink carnations. Mrs. Jones is a graduate of St Ann High School in West Palm Beach, and is employed by the Duval County Board of Public Instruction. The bridegroom attended Florida State University and is associated with the Duval county board as comptroller. Immediately following the ceremony, the couple left for the Florida Keys. Upon their return they will reside at 520 May Street, Jacksonville FL. Out-of-town guests included the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Clark and Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Parsons, Fort Pierce. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. John P. Cochrane, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Cochrane Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E Cochrane, and son Tommy, Jr., and Mrs. John M. Hall.

OBITUARY in Palm Beach Post 27 May 1956: JERE I JONES - Mr. Jones, 52, Comptroller for Duval County Board of Public Instruction, died Friday night at his home in Jacksonville after a short illness, according to word received here by Mrs. Esther Baker, his mother-in-law, of 419 15th St. He resided in this city (WPB) for two years in 1938 and 1939. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Elaine Baker, city; two children, Carla Lin and Bibson I. Jones of Jacksonville; his mother, Mrs. Ophelia Clark, Jacksonville, and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Cochrane, Sr., Buckingham Pl., city. Hardage Funeral Home, Jacksonville, has charge of arrangements.
