Born in The Township of Eau Pleine (Marathon County) Wisconsin, Regina was the second child of Joseph & Anna Gostomski. They moved back to Milwaukee when Regina was about 1 year old (Joseph and Anna were married in Milwaukee). She attended St. Vincent de Paul grade school and then South Division High School...graduating at the age of 17.
She met her future husband Lawrence Wiese through the efforts of her grandmother Julia Schwabe and his grandmother Anna Philipp. They become engaged but he left for Germany in August of 1942 and remained in service until January 1946.
During this time Regina attended many service oriented functions that were sponsored by the USO. She was also an amateur dancer and did local production numbers. Here is a picture of her dancing the Can-Can (Regina is the first dancer).
On May 25 1946, Regina & Lawrence were married at St Vincent's Catholic Church in Milwaukee WI. They had 3 sons: Christopher born May 25 1947, Keith born May 9 1948, and Curtis born January 20 1952.
They lived in Milwaukee until 1982 when Lawrence retired; then they moved to Florida, staying until 1992 when they sold their home and moved back to Milwaukee because of the increasing ill health of Lawrence. They were however very active in Senior Citizen Centers in both Holiday FL and Milwaukee WI.
Lawrence died in 1994, Regina in 2007. She was also preceded in death by son Christopher (in 1998), her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She leaves behind 2 sons (Keith & Curtis) 2 sisters, 2 daughters-in-law, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She lived with her son Keith, and 2 adorable little dogs (Vixen and Ginger). She is missed very much and it is very lonely without her.
Rest in Peace dear Mother.
