Astleford Emma Caroline, 97, born Oct. 17, 1905. A longtime resident of Richfield, passed away Oct. 2, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Ramona Brick; parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dale & Lola, Fountain Hills, AZ, Leon "Lon" & Elaine, Lakeville; daughters and son-in-law, Carol & Mike Connelly, Longville, MN, Shirley Astleford, Highland Park, IL; grandchildren, Kenneth and Robert Brick, Kathy Dugal, Judy Nordschow, Susan Pederson, Gwen Stafne, Barbara Gfroerer, Wendy Goblirsch, Ronald Bloomgren, Leslie Benson, Eileen Mumford, Jackie, Joel and Mark Astleford, Jennifer Pridham, Heather Poucher and Brian Benson; 29 great-grandchldren; and 7 great-great- grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Grant and Berneva Boddy, Worthington, MN, Marjorie Johnson, Rushmore, MN; 54 nieces and nephews. Emma's entire life revolved around taking care of and loving her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Her determination and quick mind was an inspiration to all who knew her, and will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 6 at 11:00 AM at Richfield United Methodist Church, 59th and Lyndale Avenue South. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation Sunday from 4-8 PM at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Avenue South, and one hour prior to service at church. The family expresses deep gratitude to Allina Hospice.
