Funeral Services for Nancy Lynn Rash Hendrix, 72, of Gilmer, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home with Brother Larry Gilliam and Brother Donnie Loyd officiating. Interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Nancy was born October 16, 1949, to Johnnie Wilson and Dena Bray Rash in Gilmer, Texas and passed to her Heavenly home February 1, 2022.
Nancy married James Douglas "Buddy" Hendrix, December 20, 1969, at New Bethlehem. She was a nurse at Gilmer Care Center from 1974 to 2010 and was also an agent for Kilgore Travel Agency for several years. Nancy was a member of Square G Square Dancing Club, Upshur County Mounted Patrol, an honorary member of FFA, and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Shane Hendrix and wife, Amber, Jason Hendrix and wife, Stephania, Chad Hendrix and wife, Cari; grandchildren, Baylee Hendrix Bell and husband, Dustan, Baylee Paige Youngblood, Riley Hendrix, Landon Hendrix, Colton Hendrix and wife, Hannah, Chelbi Hendrix, Saige Hendrix, and Bristol Hendrix; great grandchildren, Brantley Bell, Landry Bell, Luke Bell, and Ryver Hendrix; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Dana Hughes, Dian and Mike Melton; sister-in-law, Debbie Rash; and numerous nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Douglas "Buddy" Hendrix in December of 2021.
Pallbearers are Dustin Hodges, Willie Rawls, Cory Clamp, Kelly Phillips, Mark Massengill, and Jeff East.
