Ardis E. Robbins, 74, of Des Moines, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 6, 1991 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center of a lengthy respiratory illness. She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Waterloo, to Hezekiah and Golda (Call) Dunbar.

She married Owen Bartlett in 1935 in Galena, Illinois. They divorced in 1963. She then married Harold L. Robbins Dec. 19, 1973 in Waterloo.

Mrs. Robbins was an employee of Powers Manufacturing and Chamberlain Manufacturing, and was last employed by Canteen Food Service at Deere & Co.

Her husband and three sons (Wendell of West Des Moines, Gary of Des Moines, and Russell of Santa Clara, CA) remain along with two stepsons, Jack and Dave Robbins of Waterloo; three daughters (Roxanne Miles of Castle Rock, WA, Sandra Bonis of Bettendorf and Golda Knight of Des Moines); sister, Kathleen Bemus; 27 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Two sons, Gene Bartlett and Jack Bartlett, preceded her in death; along with two brothers, Thomas Dunbar and Willis Dunbar; three sisters: Eleanor Albrecht, Golda Dunbar and Ruth Dimon; and four grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials to American Lung Association of Iowa.
