Obituary for Lawrence Carmen Campanella

Lawrence Carmen Campanella passed away Friday morning, January 28, 2022 at his home in Butte.

He was born in Butte Wednesday, September 16, 1936 to Carmen and Albina (Bugni) Campanella.

He attended Butte schools and graduated from Butte High School. Lawrence served his country in the United States Navy and following his honorable discharge, returned to Butte where he and Donna White were united in marriage on July 20, 1962.

Lawrence worked at Stauffer Chemical for many years and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Butte Vigilante Saddle Club since he was 18 years old, a member of the Butte Eagles Lodge, F.O.E.# 11 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Donna Campanella of Butte, son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Darcee Campanella of Billings, daughters and son-in-law, Kim Campanella of Butte, Kristi and Mike Bailly of Helena and son-in-law, Bob Peterson of Kalispell.

Surviving grandchildren include: Courtney and Matt Burton, Danielle Campanella, Kodi Guccione and Dan Richards, Cameron Holm, Cole and Chelsea Bailly and Mason Bailly. Great-grandchildren include: Max Burton, Laurel Richards and Will Richards. Other survivors include his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Beverly and John Orr, Elaine and Rod Holm, John and Peggy White, Cheryl Collins, Jim and Shelly White, Richard and Paulina White, Ron and Melody White, Debbie and Colton Beard and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Lawrence is preceded in death by his son, Larry "Tiger" Campanella his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Iris White, son-in-law, John Williams brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Rose White, Judy and John Wulf, Bill and Sue White, Arlene White and nephew, Billy White.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of his life is being planned and will be announced when arrangements are completed.
