Mrs. Dora Etta Ferguson Dinsmore, age 100, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on July 16, 1921 in Hindman, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of George Washington and Arzella King Ferguson. She first married William Henry Cayce and to this happy union arrived a son, Billy. After William's death December 16, 1960, she married Dallas Keith Dinsmore on April 23, 1966 this union blended two families. She moved to Madison in 1963 from Whitesburg, Kentucky. She worked for twenty years as an attendant with the Madison State Hospital. She enjoyed reading her Bible, sing hymns, politics, played the guitar, cook, raising flowers and a garden, an avid animal lover, and enjoyed hand quilting. She won awards for her quilting skills, every single stitch was completed by her hands without a machine. Her specialty dish was her Chicken and Dumplings, and a favorite of all of her family. This dish was always requested by everyone for each family reunion. she was proud of her accomplishment in authoring a book, "The Flower of the Mountain". She was raised in the Whitesburg Presbyterian Church and now held membership in the Deeper LIfe Christian Center in North Vernon, Indiana. Dora died on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 2:48 p.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Dora will be missed by her son, Billy R. Cayce of Citrus Springs, Florida; her honorary daughter and care-giver, Debbie Jackson of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren, Paula Cassell, Dawn Spallas (Lee), Sean Cayce, David Cayce (Lisa), Rebekah Jackson; several great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, George Washington Ferguson, her mother, Arzella King Ferguson, her first husband, William Henry Cayce, died December 16, 1960, her second husband of 44 years, Dallas Keith Dinsmore, died October 23, 2010, her daughter in law, Martha Cayce, her brothers, Carlos King, Foster Ferguson, Arlie Ferguson, Knawha Ferguson, and East Lynn Ferguson, her sisters, Sadie Hall, Charma Adams, Nova Sexton and step sister, Zella English, her granddaughter, Jennifer Cayce.
PRIVATE FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE
Private memorial services will be conducted at a later date and private gravesides services were conducted at the Grandview Memorial Gardens,9306 North U.S. 421 near Madison, Indiana.
