Lawrence W. Phelps

Nineveh - I died on 1-5-22. I was born in Binghamton, NY on May 25, 1948 to Leona and Bill Phelps, who predeceased me. I was their only child and grew up in Sanitaria Springs, NY attending CV High School and Paul Smith's College. In August of 1968 I married my wife, friend and life partner, Linda J. Patnode.

I served in the USNR from 1968-74, including Naval Support Danang, Vietnam 69-70. I worked many jobs during my work career, including food service and ending up in manufacturing at IBM. I was laid off in 1994, and started a small sharpening business, called Larry's Sharp Shop.

Linda and I have owned my ancestors property since1979. We built our dream in 1984, and called our home "The Cabin". My solace was always the woods, working alone, either cutting firewood, or making lumber. My Uncle Raymond was a great influence when it came to the woods.

Linda survives me and at my request there will be no memorial service.

A very special "Thank You" to Chad, you know why. I was fortunate in my life to have the love and support of Linda, the talent to build, and the independence to do as I pleased. A man has friends he can depend on and I had mine.....you know who you are. ALWAYS REMEMBER AND NEVER FORGET!
