James Ralph Aspden was born July 3rd 1900 in Blackburn, Lancashire, England to James Aspden and Margaret Catherine nee Ainsworth Aspden. He came to the United States at the age of 12 in 1912. On November 25, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan he married the wonderful and funny Mary Frances Stuart. To that union was born my father James Anthony Aspden, Mary Aspden, William Henry Aspden, and Margaret Ellen Aspden who passed before her parents at the age of five. At the time of his death he was survived by his wife Mary Frances nee Stuart Aspden and his two living sons James and William and daughter Mary. Many blessings to the staff at Detroit Memorial Cemeteries for helping me find my grandfather's resting place. On January 5th 1940 James became a United States Citizen. James and his family may have attended St. James Parish in Altham England. I have been told by my cousin Cherly the Aspden family desendants attended the St. James Parish in Altham England.
