Isaac Ernst Fry, 78, died on March 2, 1960, in Davenport, Iowa, after an extended illness. He was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, the son of Mary Elizabeth (Peek) and George William Fry. Isaac had been residing with his daughter, Nellie (Fry) Fox, of Bettendorf, for the past two-and-a-half months.
Isaac married Lottie "Pearl" (VanPelt) in 1902; they later divorced. He married the former Jennie (Cummins) Smith in 1912, She died in 1955.
He had been employed as a coal miner until his retirement 10 years ago.
He is survived by three daughters, Nellie Fox, and Iva Ruth Hill, both of Canton, IL; and Fern Lillian Mangold, Peoria, IL; three sons, Harold Frank Fry and Jackie Lee Fry, both of Centerville, IA; and Billy Ross Fry, Bettendorf, IA; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Oliver Louis Fry, Jerome, IA.
Burial will be in Jerome, IA.
