DEE A. TOLSON of Rockville, Maryland, devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on October 30, 2009 as a result of complications due to cancer. She is survived by three daughters; Anne Hoskinson, Barbara Kirkpatrick and Susan Tolson Rivkin and three grandchildren; Laura, Elias, and Lily. Mrs. Tolson was born on May 22, 1931 in Bessemer, Michigan to Marion and William Matrella. She attended Rosary College in River Forest Illinois and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She married Robert E. Tolson, Jr., a native Washingtonian, in 1952. They returned to the area in 1963 when her husband decided to establish his pediatric practice in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Robert E. Tolson, Jr. passed away on March 29, 2009. A memorial service for Dee Tolson was held on January 9, 2010 at Gate of Heaven cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Montgomery Hospice (www.montgomeryhospice.com )
