Richard Mattingly died peacefully in the arms of his family on January 21, 2022, at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, after a courageous battle of cancer.

Richard was born in Muskogee, OK on July 7, 1952. He went to Muskogee High School then later joined the Air Force. During his time in the Air Force, he received an injury and was later discharged. Richard enjoyed being a father, riding motorcycles, and working with his hands. In 1994 Richard met the love of his life Jean Campbell (Gilbert) of Muskogee. They were extending their family to 3 lovely children. Richard and Jean opened their homes and hearts to foster two children, which became their other children. Richard loved all his family, and he was a very loving and caring man. He always had such a light when he walked in the room with his warm heart. So many family and friends love the time they had with him.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother Eleneta Doughty, father William Mattingly of Okay, Oklahoma. brother Leo Mattingly, Pat Mattingly, and sister Sara Mattingly. Also, great-niece Elenta Mattingly.

Richard is survived by his wife Jean Mattingly; son Anthony Mattingly, Nick Campbell and children Elizabeth, Alicia, Alissa and Sabrina; daughter Vicki, and son-in-law Aaron Smith and children Braxton, Ashley, Megan and Dylan. Siblings include John Mattingly's wife, Regina Mattingly, their children Michelle, John, Kirk with numerous family members, and Elneta Walters and husband Ronnie Richey's children include Danny and Roy Thornburg. Brother-in-law Walter Gilbert, sister-in-law Cinday Winkler; sister-in-law Louise Taylor and children; Niece & Nephew Carolyn and Gene McDowell and with numerous children. Aunt Dee & Uncle Joe Denton. Also, his two foster children, Eliza and Ryan.

The family asks everyone to attend on January 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at McLain Cemetery located South of Keefton Mclain, OK.
