Born May 1, 1925, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Carl Alexander McAbee and Nettie (Sanders) McAbee and the wife of the late John Edgar Whisenant, Jr.
She was a retired realtor and of the Presbyterian faith.
She is survived by two sons, John Edgar Whisenant, III of Spartanburg, and Marc Joseph Whisenant and his wife Peggy of Columbia.
Visitation was 10-10:45 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Cash and Anita Jennings. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
