Joyce Hauth was born March 20, 1936 at Catesby, Oklahoma to her parents, Oden and Eloise Shepherd. She was one of eight children in the family. She passed away January 14, 2022.
She grew up in Laverne, Oklahoma where she attended high school. She married DeWayne Lee Hauth on December 25, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico. They had identical twin boys.
Her life with DeWayne involved living in many different places as they followed the oil business in Oklahoma. She was primarily a homemaker until her divorce from DeWayne. While living in Enid, Oklahoma she took some additional training to become a secretary and bookkeeper. Eventually she became a payroll expert working in Irving, Texas for over 40 years. After retirement, she moved to Frisco, Texas to be close to family.
Preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Ronald Edward, Clifford Eugene (Tug), Mattie Lorene, Melvin Hugh and Delbert Byron. Survived by sisters, Georgie Deloris Pope and Mary Lou Schmitt, sons, Russell Glenn and Rodney Lynn Hauth, 6 grand children and 14 great grand children.
She directed her remains to be placed in the Rose Hill Cemetery just northeast of Laverne, Oklahoma. Although she left Laverne when she was married, she always kept in contact with many of its residents and was a subscriber to the Harper County Leader until her passing. It is fitting that she chose this to be her final resting place...Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home.
