Eunice (Bratt) Maxwell, 87, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 at a her residence.

Eunice was born on Feb. 5, 1930 to John and Agnes (Johansen) Bratt in Melvin, Texas and worked as a lineotype operator for Livestock Weekly and Ranch News.

On Feb. 14, 1948, she married Edwin L. Maxwell in San Saba, Texas.

Mama was born to Swedish immigrants who taught their children Swedish and American traditions. She was a hard worker on the outside and inside of her home. Mama was always there for us and enjoyed her family.

Eunice is survived by daughter, Chris Maxwell Russell of Miles; two sons, Ed Maxwell Jr. of San Angelo and Boyd Maxwell of Luling; two granddaughters, Nicole Russell Schwertner of Rowena, Merritt Maxwell Grogan of Luling; three grandsons, Rick Russell Jr. of Miles, Wesley Russell of San Angelo, and Shane Maxwell of New Braunfels; five great-grandsons, Sutton Schwertner of Rowena, Brody Schwertner of Rowena, Corley Russell and Lane Russell of Miles, and Bryce Grogan of Luling; three great-granddaughters, Rachel Russell of Snyder, Texas, Preslee Grogan and Belle Grogan, both of Luling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin L. Maxwell Sr.; parents John and Kristin Bratt; brother, Alvin "Pete" Bratt; and sisters Astrid Cashbeer, Allie Anderson, Ruby Bratt and Bernice Jones.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of San Angelo Funeral Home.

In lieu off flowers the family suggests memorials to the Kindred Care Hospice, ATTN: Kindred Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30339.
