Giovanna Pecoraro (Moreci), 91, died on Monday January 17, 2022 in Spring Hill, Florida. Giovanna was born on November 28, 1930 in Alta Villa Milicia, Sicily, Italy. Proceeded in death by her parents Antonino Moreci & Maria (Abbate) Moreci, her husband Giuseppe Pecoraro, and her daughter Rosa Giovenco (Pecoraro).

Giovanna was a beloved wife to Giuseppe Pecoraro for 48 years and a caring mother of two children Rosa Giovenco (Loreto, deceased) and Rosario Pecoraro (Judy) and sister to Salvatore (deceased) Moreci (Rosaria).

In 1954 she immigrated from Sicily to Chicago, Illinois with her husband and two children. Giovanna worked at Dormeyer, National Tea Company and Columbus Hospital. Giovanna always filled the room with love, laughter and happiness. She was an active member of Maria SS. Lauretana Society.

At the age of 62 she was fortunate enough to retire with her husband to Hudson, Florida. Where they made many friendships. Her strong family values will forever be cherished. Giovanna enjoyed taking care of her family by making huge family dinners every Sunday and all holidays. She enjoyed playing 31 with her brother and friends. She also enjoyed her time spent with her brother, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Above all, she cherished the time she had with her son, daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren, Cira D'Ugo (Tony), Giovanna Citrano (Philip), Giuseppe Giovenco (Maria Laura), Giovanna Vandiver (Tony), Theresa McDuffie (Jason), Rita Gustafson (Steve). Beloved great-grandmother to 14, Maria & Loreta D'Ugo, Antonino, Alessandro & Domenico Citrano, Rosabella & Gino Giovenco, Vincent & Lucca Vandiver, Angelica & Alexander McDuffie, Kailey, Chloe & Charlie Gustafson.

Giovanna was a spiritual woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

Visitation Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road in Niles. Funeral Service Wednesday, January 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
